Panama’s new cruise ship experience, convention center, and metro station

The MS Satoshi, the 12-story, 245-meter-long residential cruise ship whose stay will be the Gulf of Panama. It arrived in early December 2020, and will help position the country as a pioneer in adopting this innovative housing model, which arises as an opportunity in the middle of the current cruise industry recession.

It will remain anchored 22 kilometers from the coast and its communication with the mainland will be through a system of ferries, the estimated travel time between the boat and the city is 30 minutes.

The MS Satoshi cruise ship accommodates 2,020 residents; the company announced that the majority will be “digital nomads” among them; entrepreneurs of new technologies, influencers, and managers of cryptocurrencies; in other words, professionals who perform their duties over the internet and remotely.

The ship has 777 rooms and suites, lounges, swimming pools, recreation centers; as well as areas for offices, research, and temporary rentals for vacation.


The Panama Convention Center & SMG

The American company SMG has great experience in managing about 300 enclosures (convention centers, arenas, and large stadiums) in the world. A large portion of these enclosures are visitors from China, South America, the United States, and Europe, with 98% of clients being entities of the government.

The Panama Convention Center has a construction area of 63 thousand m2, with a maximum capacity of 23,900 people, is divided into four large areas: Banquets, Grand Lobby, Exhibitions, and Docks.

The constructed area is 61,175 m2, of which 33,178 m2 are salable for various types of events. It also has an exhibition area of 15,000 m2, a banquet area of 4,000 m2, and 1,700 parking lots, including a bus area. Panama Convention Center will begin operations at the beginning of the second semester of 2021 and that international commitments have already been made to hold events.


Panama SAHIC 2021

Panama will be the official headquarters of the thirteenth edition of SAHIC in 2021 with the slogan “Opportunities in the Hub of the Americas”. SAHIC for its acronym in English is an event that benefits Panama as it will position it as an attractive destination for investments and the promotion of the hotel sector and real estate projects. It is centered around the most prominent representatives of the tourism industry, financial advisors, developers, and expert consultants.


Panama Metro Station at Tocumen International Airport

44% progress has been recorded in the construction of the Panama Metro station of the Tocumen International Airport and that connects with the Corredor Sur junction, through the branch of Line 2, since the resumption of work last June. This project will provide a fast and efficient option for transportation to the airport for thousands of passengers. The extension work of Line 2 of the Panama Metro between the airport complex and the capital city will make the country’s main air terminal equal to the world’s great metropolises with a direct connection to the airport.
